I just finished Max Hastings' All Hell Broke Out. Nothing like a WWII history to make you glad you are living now.

My worry is that a WWI/WWII-level Black Swan is lurking out there somewhere in the near future. Brexit is the greatest domestic crisis since WWII and it's easy to feel that Trump represents a grave global one. Nixon, Reagan and Bush I/II were all terrible, but there were, for what it's worth, professional politicians. Trump and his gang feel different to me. Perhaps I am just getting old.
